Anjo World Theme Park: FUNtastic Playground in Cebu

A week after Sinulog Festival celebration in Cebu, I’ve got some special visitors from Dipolog City – my mom Magdalena, sister Liezel and her three talented children named Xhyllon, Ziephyr and Yhoughe. They wanted to stay in Cebu for 3 days post-Sinulog to avoid the crowded streets and enjoy what the Queen City of the South has to offer. There’s no special occasion whatsoever but as a host, I made a commitment to make their stay worth while. Well, what a better way to enjoy as a squad than to have a fun-filled family bonding in a world full of surprises. Anjo World Theme Park, a newly-opened multi-park, was a clear choice.

Anjo World is a world-class amusement and theme park, the first of its kind in Cebu. It houses the sensational Snow World (our supposed itinerary only that day but eventually tried every single ride offered at Anjo World). Boasting lots of exciting activities and top-notch offerings that serve up wildly fun and exhilarating experiences, there’s so many ways you can create memories in Anjo World Theme Park.

Together with my best buddy Em (@emsmithcb) and his family, we headed to Anjo World one Sunday morning and arrived earlier than the facility’s operating hours. We lined up immediately in the ticketing booth and the personnel warmly greeted and informed us that new rides are operational that day. Lucky for us, we can try (or atleast observe) it exclusively. Upon hearing this, our excitement grew even more.

ANJO WORLD ATTRACTIONS AND THRILL RIDES

1.) Snow World Cebu

Even before Anjo World became a viral hit online, there’s Snow World Cebu. While Anjo World Theme Park is still on soft opening since December 2018 and rides are being introduced one by one, Snow World Cebu initially opened its cool doors to the public early 4th quarter of last year. Don’t be confused though as Snow World is also located inside Anjo World. In fact, it is one of the coveted activities that visitors would want to try, gaining more popularity as days go by.

In SNOW WORLD CEBU, I could say that it’s the next best thing to experiencing Winter in Cebu. I’ve always wanted to experience something different such as visiting an extremely cold environment similar to that of the Arctic region. I don’t need to go farther as Snow World is the place to go!

Snow World Cebu is a cool place for family bonding with legit subzero and fun ice slide. Picture-taking using your camera is not allowed inside but you can request the in-house photographers to take a snap of your memories inside for only Php200 per photo.

2.) Boomerang

Looks normal from the get-go? Wait ’til you try it!

This newest ride is giving daredevils a heart-stopping day out. I’ve seen it operated for the first time and it’s kind of rip-roaring! You can hear the brave souls riding this mammoth ride screaming and wanting for more. You should try this to know what I mean.

3.) Vikings

If you’re confronted with an opportunity to hit (not eat) the sides, it’d really just be rude to say “NO”. But also a big “NO”, Viking is not a food place either. Say “YES”, ‘coz it’s a lot more interesting than that.

If you can imagine how a pendulum works, then you’ll know how it looks like when you swing freely back and forth. Hold on to your seats!

4.) Golden Carousel

You know this familiar attraction. Yes, it’s a classy version of Merry Go ‘Round. This is definitely a ride for everyone. Chill. Unpretentious. No drama.

I call it a “Ride of All Ages”. You can simply tell just by looking at this groufie. Indeed, a family that plays together, stays together. =)

5.) Tower Drop

If you’re looking for a ride that will feed your adrenaline, then the 25-m Tower Drop is what you seek. I tell you, it’s not for the faint-hearted. I don’t know how to describe my personal experience with Tower Drop but one thing’s for sure,
it’s designed to get the heart racing.

6.) London Taxi

London Taxi is Anjo World’s version of a bump car. My family enjoyed this for we get to ride our own taxi and indiscriminately bump at each other in one big European street.

Stay put, it’s about to get a little bumpy.

7.) Tea Cup (Mr. Cup)

In my opinion, Tea Cup is the most under-rated rides in Anjo World. It looks simple from the first encounter but you won’t expect it to be a crazy fun ride. I nearly had a headache, no thanks to its rotating functionality! That’s just me though, but one thing I can assure you, kids and kids-at-heart will love the Tea Cup. It’s filled with sturdy tea cup-inspired seats that would spin around in circles with no frills.

8.) Frog Jump (Mr. Frog)

Frog Jump is a chill ride that I would recommend to kids and those who are not daring enough to try the extreme. It is the perfect way to blend excitement and the opportunity for spectacular views all at a single fantastic ride.

9.) Space Shuttle

Let your imagination run wild as you feel the thrill of an astronaut with Anjo World’s ever famous Space Shuttle.

These kiddos really love it. As you’ve observed it by now, each ride has a corresponding theme or destination. An astronaut holding a powerful flag with its National Park, Mt. Rushmore at the backdrop, it’s not hard to tell it represents USA.

10.) Hip Hop

Anjo World Theme Park‘s newest ride “HIP HOP” is now breakdancing, errr I mean operational. Feel the thrill of an exciting ride just like riding an octopus with a twist.

Scream your lungs out while breakdancing up in the air to rhythmic moves, bouncing around like there’s no tomorrow! It’s the first of its kind in Cebu, totally a must-try!

SAFETY FIRST

For your safety, you should be in good health. Only you know your physical conditions or limitations. If you suspect that your health could be at risk for any reason, or you could aggravate a pre-existing condition of any kind, do not ride.

Each ride is equipped with imported safety accessories and trained personnel to ensure your safety and enforce ride restrictions. For your own sake, secure safety seatbelts and hold on tight to handbars if any. Loose items, mobile phones and/or cameras, selfie sticks and other expandable equipment and gadgets are not allowed.

Souvenir Shop

Before you leave Anjo World Theme Park, you may want to purchase some items in the souvenir shop located just before the exit. I didn’t take a picture of the shop itself as I was mesmerized by this cute Siberian husky stuffed toy since it reminds me of my pooch named Avalanche.

Grub Hub

Feeling hungry? Don’t fret, there’s a food court outside Anjo World vicinity, near the parking lot. While there are few food stalls inside Anjo World Theme Park, Grub Hub is perfect for lunch, afternoon break or dinner wherein you can enjoy the food and share your funtastic experience with your beloved company.

As of writing, there are only few selections but enough to feed your tummy from an adventure-filled family day. More tenants will be operational soon.

ANJO WORLD RATES

Unlimited adventure awaits you at Anjo World for only Php 450 (Monday to Friday) and Php 550 (Saturday and Sunday). Just add Php 200 to include Snow World in your itinerary. Kids up to 55 inches can avail of the Junior Day Adventure Pass for only Php 360 (Monday to Friday) and Php 440 (Saturday and Sunday).

You can skip the line as purchasing ticket is also available via online booking thru their website www.anjoworld.com. Also, Anjo World mobile app is something to look forward to very soon.
