Cebu Safari and Adventure Park: Prime Multi-Attraction Upland Resort in Cebu

Truth be told, it’s been three years since I featured Cebu Safari and Adventure Park on my blogs entitled “25 International and PH Wonders in Cebu” and “25 Fabulous Floral Attractions in Cebu” but I really haven’t stepped foot at the Park’s premises until recently. I felt kind of ashamed that I didn’t even get to tick Cebu Safari off my bucket list the soonest. Well, I guess it’s not too late to add colors to my Cebu Safari drawings.

Together with my CBS family who were also first time guests at Cebu Safari, we visited the premier Safari Park in the country and it is all I ever dreamed for a perfect getaway over the weekend. With its breathtaking spectacles, it got me wondering why I never came sooner!

Nestled on a lush highland, near the breathtaking Mangitngit Falls at Corte, Carmen, Cebu Safari and Adventure Park (CSAP for short) is a promising 170-hectare development by the Lhuilliers that opened to the public in 2017. This prime multi-attraction upland resort proudly showcases some of the popular Safari circuit residents (e.g., lion, zebra, giraffe, exotic birds, etc.), beautiful botanical garden from all other the world, thrill rides and modern highland camping.

Upon arrival at Safari, a big signage will greet you “WELCOME TO THE WILD!”. All guest will be gathered at the Pavillion where smiling personnel greet you with welcome drinks and colorful animal mascots entertain you with their lively presence. There’s a ticket booth at the corner where you can purchase the Park’s pass, or exchange your Klook voucher with that of CSAP’s tickets.

Once everything is settled, you may head to the entrance and start your tour via a Tram. If you didn’t have your breakfast, fret not ‘coz there are food choices around the Park like Base Camp, Tiger Turf, Michaelangelo Pizzeria and a lot more.

CSAP features topnotch facilities boast a fusion of ecological, educational and extreme adventure. A multi-activity tour to CSAP is definitely a great way to experience different kinds of adventure travel in just one premier upland resort. What better place to feed your adrenaline rush than one that’s both diverse in nature and in action-packed park?

BOTANICAL GARDEN

What’s not to love about botanical garden? What would romantic day be without flowers? Did you know that flowering plants can improve your mood? If you pay close attention to the flower-filled surroundings, flowers emit negative ions that would awaken suppressed feeling when stressed, thereby giving you a calming effect. Cool, right? Let’s visit various botanical gardens in Cebu Safari and Adventure Park.

Michel’s Garden

This garden is lit, I tell you. Boasting a vast species of flora blooming in every corner, it’s a good spot for a birthday or pre-nup photoshoot sessions. Phalaenopsis, vanda strap-leaf, debdrobium, and oncidium are just a few types of the one million orchids you can see at the garden.

Take a walk to flora walking trail that showcases 1 million different variations of orchids. Walk down the aisle or sit in the corner ~ whatever you prefer, you’ll surely be visually delighted with the presence of more than a thousand of lovely orchids and refreshing plants.

Gardens Of The World

The newest attraction in Cebu Safari and Adventure Park is the Gardens of the World. It is a unique tunnel garden featuring different kinds of plants, landscapes, and representations of the seven continents.

For North America flora representation, there are cacti and succulents. Various species of cacti are great addition to the Garden of the World, thanks to its striking shape, size and flowers.

To show appreciation of the European culture, statues of Roman Gods and Goddesses can be seen inside the garden. There are also cape leadwort and asparagus ferns to represent the flora of Africa, among others. In the middle of Gardens of the World, you can take a closer look at the personal orchid collection of Senyorito at Senyorito’s Orchid Collection.

There is also a Japanese Garden featuring bonsai trees and pagodas, representing Asia. You’ll surely love it here.

WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Cebu Safari and Adventure Park transforms into an otherworldly wild spot, exhibiting a timeless sight that is just perfect for a African Safari selfie. To give you a brief background, CSAP started bringing in different kinds of animals from all over the world and re-created their natural habitats with the aim of preserving some of the endangered species for generations to come, and educating the visitors about the living and breathing exhibits inside the safari.

African Savanna Tour

Sight of seemingly endless plains with the dramatic presence of wildlife animals. If you pictured Kenya’s Savannah in mind, you may want to rethink about booking a flight to Africa because you can be visually delighted with one in Cebu Safari and Adventure Park in Cebu.

Yearning for a real wild encounter up close? Take the vehicle tour inside the African Savana and witness wild animals in their habitat. Say hello to herds of wildebeest, blesbok, eland, waterbuck, gemsbok, zebra, crowned crane and greater kudu.

White Lion Safari

Ride the safari tram and meet the white lions in their natural habitat. The “white” furs of the so-called King of the Jungle is due to a rare condition called leucism that recessively mutates lion’s coats to white or blonde. That said, I don’t blame you if at first sight it will lead you to believe that they’ve undergone hair bleach. LOL. The tour will run for approximately 10 to 15 mins with a dedicated tour guide. Please note, however, that teasing the lions with dangling toys is not allowed.

Birds Of The World

Exotic birds from all over the globe are housed in a huge aviary at CSAP. I personally enjoyed the Birds of the World tour as I get to appreciate the behaviors of those winged-friends inside their new habitat. It’s one for the books!

Other exciting activities such as Birds Show, Macaw Aviary, Animal Feeding, Petting Zoo are also available for you to enjoy.

ADVENTURE RIDES

They say fill your life with adventure. Consistent with “You Only Live Once” mantra, going on some adventures permits us to indulge in extraordinary stuff, do crazy things and make the most of our lives.

As for a self-confessed thrill-seeker like me, embarking on new experiences gives me an exhilarating sense of fulfillment. I knew then that my heart was made to go on adventures. Like me, CSAP Adventure Park could be your newest playground too.

Zipline Adventure

Zip warp-speed over forest-hedged Carmen mountainscape. This 1.3km zipline is staged more or less 671 meters above the ground, so get ready to be thrilled as you zoom your way cross mountain and enjoy the breathtaking views of the rugged terrain.

CSAP Adventure Park’s Zip Line Adventure features one of the longest and highest ziplines in the country and with that, it’s the one you shouldn’t miss. Cut-off for tickets is at 2:30PM and last entry is at 4:30 PM.

Sky Bike Adventure

What better way to take in the verdant mountains, than by drifting through the skies aboard the sky ride? If you’d like a chill ride up in the air, then Sky Bike is for you. Suspended 150 meters above the ground, it’s like balancing on a bike while pedaling down a steel cable back and forth.

Giant Swing Adventure

As the name suggests, you will experience a 150-ft. free fall from the heavens all the way back to the land thru a one-second pause swing back and forth.

If you’re scared to try, just remember that trained personnel will assist you in this ride for your safety. A waiver will also be signed in all rides.

Imagine being slowly elevated 150 feet high for more than three minutes. And when you’re already comfortable up above, you’ll be faced with a dilemma of pulling the trigger or not before you will be tossed down to the ground. It’s like falling from the sky that will scare a lot the hell out of you. Disclaimer: It might take a while to get your floating soul back on ground.

ATV Adventure

This is by far my most favorite activity at Cebu Safari and Adventure Park. As a cool rider of the all-terrain vehicle, you’ll brave through muddy and hilly trail inside the park’s vicinity for about 3 kilometers to experience the ultimate fun ride. I bet you’ll love ATV too.

Conquer CSAP’s adventure trials in ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) or buggies. Available in three trails for each level: beginner, intermediate and advance.

The fun-filled activities at CSAP Adventure Park will surely satisfy your adrenaline cravings. As the saying goes, you only live once, so use it wisely. Dare to live on the edge and let nature bring out your adventurous side!

SAFARI CAMP

If you’d like to spend extended days inside the safari, then Safari Camp can accommodate you and your family with its private cabin. Safari Camp is a perfect retreat nestled deep in the mountain while offering a panoramic view of the Carmen verdant landscapes and breathtaking views of the Camotes Sea.

How To Get to Cebu Safari and Adventure Park

Private Vehicle: Carmen is less than two hours away from Cebu City Proper. When riding a private vehicle, take the route of Central Nautical highway, either from Banilad Rd/Gov. M. Cuenco Ave or Lopez Jaena St., Mandaue. When you reach Carmen, please take note of the street corner where the billboards of Shemberg Biotech Corporation and St. Benedict’s Monastery are conspicuously placed.

Commuting Cebu to Carmen: Minibuses or jeepneys are available in Sun Gold, in front of SM Cebu, for (PhP 40–50). Alight at Nacional, the third street from Super Metro Store in Carmen, wherein you’ll see the billboards of Shemberg Biotech Corporation and St. Benedict’s Monastery. Habal-habal is available for PhP 30 per person leading you to Hacienda M. Lhuillier (southwest of Durano Eco Farm).
