Banana Pancake Trail: Culinary Haven of Authentic Southeast Asian Cuisines in Cebu
I miss traveling big time! With international borders still closed, no doubt about that. I missed the beautiful sceneries of the tourist spots, the warmth of the locals, the must-try experiences and of course the local delicacies and cuisines offered in such destination.
However, just a thought that having an authentic Southeast Asian street food is already available in your area, you’ll miss out not to even consider visiting it. Yes, I’m referring to Banana Pancake Trail and it’s been accessible to Cebuanos since 2014, without the need for a passport and/or backpack!
When I tried test driving the Mini along Escario Avenue, I happened to notice the physical store of Banana Pancake Trail just in front of where I was standing. I haven’t tried their food offerings but I’ve read some good reviews. Curious, I thought I must check it out one of these days.
When the moment came that I was in a mood for some Asian cuisines, the first thing that entered my mind was Banana Pancake Trail. Since it’s just near to my office, I walked less than ten minutes to visit first-hand the famed ‘trail’ specifically located at 9-3 N Escario St, Cebu City.
Banana Pancake Trail is a family-friendly restaurant offering international cuisines that would surely satisfy your taste buds. The interior is kind of chic. There are a lot of colorful decorations on each corner, each representative of various Southeast Asian markets.
In my mind, “No international travel this year? No problem!” While avidly dreaming about travel despite more than twenty flights cancelled this year alone, my Southeast Asian street food cravings were satisfied with the following orders: Roti Gluay (Thailand), Goi Cuon (Vietnam), Laksa (Malaysia or Singapore), Pork Lok Lak (Cambodia), Cha Yen (Thailand) and Shrimp Pad Thai (Thailand).
The seafood menu such as Salted Egg Shrimp, Nasi Lemak with Danggit and Sambal Udang are also a must-try (not in photo).

The price range of Banana Pancake Trail offerings is reasonable. Everything is less than Php 200.00 per order. For as low as Php120.00, you can already experience a legit Southeast Asian culinary experience. A big bang for your buck I must say!.
