Pandemic Milestone: I’m Fully Vaccinated Against Covid-19

If there’s one thing we can do to help fight the unknown enemy that is Covid-19, it would be to commit in ourselves to be protected from it. To safeguard the ones we love. To shield the society. To secure the world we live in. What better way to combat the illness than to have yourself vaccinated. Without a doubt, Covid-19 vaccines work!

When Cebu City rolled out the vaccination project “ResBakuna” in the various facilities in the metro based on specific category or the so called priority group, a lot of people were already waiting for their turn to register and have theirselves vaccinated. I was categorized under A3 or Persons with Comorbidities. I waited for about a month before A3s were catered to receive Covid-19 jabs.

I am sharing my experience in this blog to encourage everyone to #GetVaccinated too. Just register online at http://vims.cebucity.gov.ph/page/register for FREE! Once you receive a text message informing you of your schedule, head to the assigned vaccination facility on the specified time.

I arrived at the University of Cebu High School Campus in Banilad around 4PM and there were lesser individuals lining up for vaccination. Lucky me! I just followed the steps and later did I know, I already received my first jab of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Well, as one of my pandemic milestones, I got my first dose of #PfizerBioNTech vaccine last June 2021. The process was smooth (less than an hour) plus the very accommodating health workers in the vax center would make your maiden jab experience worthwhile. Before you leave the facility, there’s a short briefing of what to do and not to do after receiving your first or second dose of vaccine. Make sure you watch and thoroughly understand the video.

After 3 weeks, I visited the vaccination facility again without the need to undergo steps 1 to 3. You just need to go directly to the area where there’s a Doctor Assessment, after which you are now ready for the second dose of the same vaccine you got on your first visit. The effect of the second dose was a bit stronger. I felt weak for a minute or two but took a paracetamol for me to be well again. Of course, the pain I felt where the shot was given was pretty normal and a common side effect. For sure, you can also manage.
