Master’s Dragon Peak: Sail Away Aboard a Ship Docked Atop a Mountain in Borbon
WELCOME ABOARD.
Ready your boarding passes and let’s sail away to new adventures at the peak.
Yes, you’ve read it right. There’s a new destination in town and it is permanently anchored on top of a large steep hill in the Northern part of Cebu. Nestled deep in the rugged mountains of Borbon lies a view-tiful attraction that promises a quick escape. Say hello to S/V Master’s Dragon Peak!
From the name itself, you can already envision a huge sailing vessel with recognizable boat parts like anchor, mast, bridge, and forecastle. However, it is not docked ashore but atop the summit of barangay Bili’s natural elevation.
Interesting right? Throw off the bowlines and let’s sail away aboard S/V Master’s Dragon Peak.
What To Do in Master’s Dragon Peak
Approaching the entrance, you can already see a big boat seemingly floating from afar. You can park your vehicle at the entrance of S/V Master’s Dragon Peak (SVMDP). A huge plantation of dragon fruit can be gleaned nearby so take a photo of it while at it.
Head over to the registration booth where you have to pay Php99.00 for adult and Php50.00 for kids. Have yourself stamped on the wrist with a cute SVMDP entry stamp.
There is a stoned path going to the peak, so expect some walking and a little bit of climbing. Don’t worry, it will only take about five minutes while bearing in mind that it’s good for your health.
Once you reached the peak, you can enjoy the spectacles aside from the the leviathan ship itself such as two dragon fruit-designed shelters, a huge clam and other sea creatures perfect for your selfies.
S/V Master’s Dragon Peak is inspired by the famous ship in the movie “Pirates of the Caribean”. You can roam around the various decks of SVMDP and bask the 360 degree view of Borbon’s lush forest and savor the fresh air of the surroundings.
There are two sides of the ship wherein you can take some photo opportunities, the front part (bow) where you can see the bowsprit and sail and the rear part (stern) where you can control the steering wheel and unleash the master mariner in you. Aye aye, Captain!
A snack bar is available at the ground level where you can enjoy pastries, pizza, burger, hot coffee and a lot more. Oh, the Dragon Fruit Shake is a must-try! If you are craving for a full meal, a restaurant is also available down the slope.
The development of this property is still on-going so expect a swimming pool and other activities to be added in the area very soon.
